At present, since KWYA is in transition and shares a campus with NO.3 public school, the elementary school only offers grade 4, which is convenient for adjoining the middle school curriculum of our school. The teaching language of the primary school curriculum is equally important in both English and Chinese. We offer all new national curriculum courses and provide industry-leading featured teaching courses to help students achieve greater success in academics and life, while preparing them for the challenges they will face in university and beyond.
The KWYA Elementary School Program sets eight learning objectives for students: inquiry, contingency, virtue, respect, communication, adaptation, understanding and cooperation to develop students' international thinking and learning abilities. These courses are designed to develop students’ abilities beyond knowledge itself, helping students improve while preparing them for secondary school.
The most important feature of the elementary school curriculum is to encourage students to learn through group activities in a pleasant atmosphere. In class, students not only have to actively answer the teacher's questions, but also need to take the initiative to ask their own questions so that they can develop the ability to learn independently. Classes are centered around a topic, and the teaching of each subject will run through this topic simultaneously.
The international primary curriculum is a curriculum based on individual ability. Knowledge acquisition cannot be assessed simply by examination results, but by time, practice and process. The level of knowledge, skills and understanding in each aspect is divided into three levels: primary level, development level and mastery level, which are assessed jointly by teachers and students.
