成都墨尔文国际学校校队于12月7日来到昆明世青国际学校，开展了为期两天的体育交流活动，包括足球、篮球、乒乓球、躲避球、旱地冰球等在内的多项赛事让周末的昆明世青校园内笑声、喝彩声不断。两校的师生，以及昆明世青的家长们收获了满满的乐趣、流连忘返。

7日下午5点，第一场友谊赛——足球赛开始。刚刚下飞机的墨尔文国际学校足球队员不顾舟车劳顿，全力投入到比赛当中，以1:0战胜了东道主昆明世青足球队。

天色渐渐暗下来，双方的热情却有增无减，将“战场”搬到篮球场，双方女队进行了一场实力悬殊的女子篮球赛。场上比赛激烈，场边呐喊助威声声声不断，周末夜晚的篮球场一片热火朝天的景象。最后，世青女子篮球队在主场轻取对手。

8日夜间的一场暴风雨使得篮球场积水严重，不具备比赛条件。男篮比赛面临被取消的境况，队员们非常失望。家长们了解到情况后，纷纷从各自家里拿来拖把、刷子等工具，带着孩子一起清扫水渍。在家长、老师和同学的共同努力下，男子篮球友谊赛得以准点、安全地开赛！

体育交流项目中，最具娱乐性和参与感的要数躲避球运动了：在观看了两校小将们的比赛后，家长们兴趣盎然地向教师们挑战，摩拳擦掌地要和老师们一比高下。

三局比赛没有任何悬念，拥有三名体育老师的教师队轻而易举地击败家长队，而比赛场上却是一派温馨和谐，欢声笑语不断！

本次活动加强了两校学生之间的交流与沟通，丰富了校园文化生活，家长、学生和老师们都十分享受这次别具一格的交流活动。对于本次比赛中，家长和老师们所付出的努力和帮助，外方校长Mr.Kel Lamplough 代表学校向大家表示了感谢！

Dear parents,

Last weekend KWYA hosted Malvern College for a most enjoyable and competitive sports event. Students from both schools played soccer, basketball, dodgeball, hockey and table tennis.

This was a great occasion and we all thank Mr Andy Wood for his tireless commitment to the KWYA sporting programme. He is certainly putting us on the map!

We also thank all parents for their tremendous support – especially the magnificent manner in which they rolled up their sleeves and cleaned the basketball courts after the storm. This is typical of the KWYA spirit and we are extremely grateful to all parents who helped in this way.

Besides some truly outstanding student performances, perhaps one of the most memorable activities was the Parents versus Teachers dodgeball game. The parents put up a strong challenge, but teachers won in the end.  A great game and lots of fun. Thanks to teachers and parents!

As we all look forward to a well-earned rest over the festive season, I would like to reiterate my thanks to Mr. Wood, who, together with Mr. Sturmer, is creating a great sporting tradition here at KWYA.

We look forward to the future with positive expectations.
